How to use aesthetic symbols in a bio
- Copy a symbol or a divider from this page.
- Open your profile and tap Edit, then the bio or name field.
- Paste the symbol where you want it and add your text around it.
- Check the preview before you save. Symbols that look good on your phone can look different on others.
Keep the important words, like your name, your job or a link, in normal letters. Search tools and screen readers handle normal text best, and a screen reader reads each symbol out loud by its full name, like “white heart suit”.
Why some symbols turn into emoji
A few symbols, like the cloud ☁, the snowflake ❄ and the sun ☀, also have an emoji version. Phones often pick the colorful emoji on their own, which can break a soft black and white look. Unicode has a fix for this: an invisible character (U+FE0E) placed right after a symbol asks for the plain text style. The cloud and snowflake in our tool already include it, which is why they stay small and black when you paste them.
Why a few symbols show as boxes
Some popular aesthetic symbols are borrowed from other writing systems. The brackets ꒰ ꒱ come from the Yi script, and the bow ୨୧ is really the Odia numbers two and one placed side by side. Most phones from the last few years have fonts for them, but older devices may show empty boxes. If a friend sees boxes, use ♡ ✧ or ⋆ instead, which work almost everywhere.
Frequently asked questions
What are aesthetic symbols?
They are small Unicode characters, like ♡ ✧ ⋆ ˚ and ❀, that people use to decorate bios, names and notes. Because they are text, not images, you can copy and paste them anywhere.
Can I use these symbols in my Instagram or TikTok bio?
Yes. Bios and captions accept them. Usernames usually allow only letters, numbers, dots and underscores, so symbols will not work there.
How do I type aesthetic symbols on my phone?
Phone keyboards have only a few of them, like ♡ on some layouts. The easy way is to copy them from this page. On iPhone, you can save a favorite combination as a shortcut in Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement.
Why did my cloud turn into an emoji?
Your phone chose the emoji style. Copy the cloud from our tool, which includes the hidden text-style character, or pick a symbol without an emoji version, like ☾ or ✧.
Are these symbols safe to use?
Yes. They are standard Unicode characters, the same kind as letters and numbers. They cannot carry viruses or links.
